A MESSAGE FROM HILLARY

Dear fellow students and teachers … thank you for everything you have done for my family and I these past three weeks.  We really appreciate it.  I am feeling so much better and can’t wait to see you all when I get back.

 

DANCE

What’s red, white and black light?  It’s our St. John Valentine’s dance taking place this Thursday.  Bring your sweetheart, dressed in red, white and black.  Admission is $10.00 for the dance, $2.00 for coat check.  Guest sign-in will take place today and tomorrow at lunch at the table outside the main office. 

 

LATE BUSES

Late buses have started back up and will run Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

 

WEIGHT ROOM

It is a new semester and anyone wishing to use the weight room must renew their membership with Mr. Dave Peters.

 

RELAY FOR LIFE COMMITTEE

The Relay for Life committee will meet today at 11:30 in room 254.

 

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

Grade 9-12 girls’ hockey players are asked to please meet today at 11:30 in room 245.

 

NEWSPAPER MEETING

There will be a newspaper meeting next Tuesday, February 14 in Ms. Havekes’ room.  The meeting will be short but it is essential all members attend.

 

SOCK DAY

It’s official – every Thursday is Spartan sock day.  Show your pride every Thursday … wear your Spartan socks with your shorts.  If you haven’t yet purchased your socks, student council will be selling them every Thursday at lunch for $12.00.  Don’t miss out!

 

AFTER SCHOOL LITERACY

The after school literacy program begins tonight at 3:15 in room 226.

 

SENIOR FOOTBALL PLAYERS

All senior football players are asked to please meet today at lunch in the gym.

 

ENRICHMENT MINI-COURSE PROGRAM

Grade 9 students who were contacted by Mrs. Peters about the enrichment mini-course program in Ottawa this May are asked to meet with Mrs. Peters today at 11:30 sharp in the resource room.  A complete list of names is posted on the announcement board outside the main office.

 

MCCARTHY STORE

The R.J. McCarthy store will be closed this week and will reopen next week.  Please see Mrs. Gemmill this week if you need to purchase a uniform item.

 

SWEETHEART ROSES

Prom committee will be selling sweetheart roses for $2.00 each this week at lunch at the table outside the main office.  Surprise that special someone … even your aunt.

 

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT

Camp Lau-ren is now accepting applications for employment for 2012.  Camp Lau-ren is near Deep River and is a Christian experience in an outdoor setting.  Positions include cooks, consellors, caretakers and waterfront staff, and includes accommodations.  Applications are online at www.lau-ren.com and in student services.  Deadline is March 9, 2012.

 

DUAL CREDIT COURSES

All students who are registered in a dual credit course for semester 2 are asked to please attend a brief meeting today at 11:45 in portable 317.
